Receiving
The Receiving area is the starting point of the entire intralogistics process. Here, cartons and components are received, and their quantities, quality, and item codes are inspected. After verification, goods are classified and transferred to storage or other designated areas.
With accurate inspection systems and well-defined procedures, Receiving ensures that inbound data is complete and reliable. This forms the foundation for the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to initialize accurate inventory records.
When receiving operations are performed effectively, subsequent processes such as storage, picking, and shipping run far more smoothly. Conversely, errors at this early stage can lead to data inconsistencies, delays, or stock shortages. For this reason, Receiving is considered a critical link in ensuring the reliability and overall efficiency of intralogistics.
